“Whether I’m welcome or not” raps Bijaan on the opening bar of his debut single, “Jungle”, a line that immediately sets the tone for an artist unafraid to claim his space. Bijaan is a Calgary-based MC whose artistry bridges contents and cultures and has already captured the attention of major DSPs, key industry festivals, and fellow hip-hop artists and producers. Canadian born, with roots in East Africa and India, he brings a distinctly global perspective to hip-hop.
Produced by the Polaris Prize-nominated hip-hop heavyweight Producer, Junia-T, his debut single “Jungle” is a bold exploration of identity, unapologetic self-belief, and belonging, anchored by Bijaan’s sharp lyricism and a unique, commanding delivery.
